The family of Anyang Nyong'o is mourning the death of the governor's mother who passed on Tuesday.

Mama Dorcas Owino passed on at the age of 98.

She died at 1:55pm ,said Mr Aloyce Ager the director of the governor's press unit.

We could not establish the exact cause of her death but it is thought to be a mini  stroke.

Dorcas had been adimited for the past few days at Aga Khan hospital in Nairobi.

Raila was quick to send his condolences ,he described her as a strong woman who impacted people's live.
In a Twitter message, he said, "She never stopped serving and guiding the family and the community she was part of despite her advancing years."
